Some couples are different than others and not everyone wants the "same look & feel" from their wedding day. There are people that enjoy getting married at night, others early at sunrise, and others under a full sun at noon. We usually recommend our couples get married about 1.5 hours before sunset to get beautiful, natural light and be able to take sunlit photographs afterward.
These times are estimated and are based on our experience at hundreds of beach weddings. If you want a ceremony that doesn't feel "too hot" but gives you just enough time to do everything as planned, then these might be good for you:
Month of the Year | Ceremony Starting Time | Sunset Time |
| January | 4:30pm | After 6pm |
| February | 5pm | Around 6:30pm |
| March | 5pm | After 6:30pm |
| April | 5 or 5:30pm | Around 6:45pm |
| May | 5 or 5:30pm | Before 7pm |
| June | 5:30pm | After 7pm |
| July | 5:30pm | After 7pm |
| August | 5:30pm | Around 7pm |
| September | 5pm | Around 6:30pm |
| October | 4:30pm | After 6pm |
| November | 4 or 4:30pm | Before 6pm |
| December | 4:30pm | Around 6pm |
- Please consider that if your ceremony runs late (as it happens in a lot of weddings!) you might be in a rush right after it finishes to capture everything before the cocktail hour and reception starts. If you think your group -or yourselves- might be late, then pushing everything 30 minutes earlier will give you peace of mind, and more pictures!
- Getting married earlier will give you a unique color in the ocean. If you want a blue/turquoise ocean, then getting married between 2 and 4pm will give you vibrant colors and a more Caribbean, colorful images at the end of the day. It will be very warm, but some people prefer the colorful ocean in the background and we love it too.
- Getting married later than the advised times will result in a darker ocean, artificial lighting in most pictures (as we need to use flashes or led lights at night) and a very different look in your images.
